About Mary
I am a professional writer, National Guard wife, and mother of two. My first book, The List: 7 Ways to Tell if He’s Going to Marry You in 30 Days or Less was published in 2005. My second, National Guard 101: A Handbook for Spouses, was released in December 2011. My work has been featured on The Today Show, Fox News Channel, local television affiliates, and nationally-syndicated radio programs.
Before leaving the FT workforce to focus on my family, I spent many years as a marketing professional working with architects, engineers, and interior designers (I love all things design-related!). I still do consulting work for engineering and IT Staffing companies. My area of expertise is managing complex, highly-technical public sector proposals.
I wrote my first book while my husband was deployed to Guantanamo Bay and am promoting my second while he is serving in Afghanistan. Although my books seem very different at first glance, both reflect my professional specialty: breaking very complex subjects into interesting, process-based narratives.
